Losing my mother has been a seminal experience that has reshaped every part of my life.
The grief ebbs and flows: sometimes as a quiet ache, other times it presents as an overwhelming sadness.
Sometimes memories provide comfort, other days they bring waves of sorrow.
Grief is so much like emotional pain. Yet, in the midst of this pain, I remember the lessons she taught me, the happier, optimistic way, and that the sun continues to shine no matter what.
Grieving her loss is a journey, one that teaches me to honor her legacy by caring for myself and allowing space for both sorrow and healing.
