Worthiness has always been an elusive concept that throws us humans. What makes one worthy? What would make us confident that we are worthy?
Those with childhood trauma or intimate partner violence often struggle with worthiness. A part of grooming, the perpetrator over and over tells the victim that they are not worthy and the abuse is justified. This is a very hard feeling to shake after a while.
Therapy enhances self-esteem, helps you question your self-doubts, and fosters an enduring sense of self. All these help restore the sense that you are absolutely worthy; worthy of love, worthy of success, and worthy of self-compassion and self-love.
